Nineteenth Discovery flight. The Lidar in Space Technology Experiment (LITE) will be used to better explain our climate. LITE will help us understand the human impact on the atmosphere and enable us to improve our measurements of the clouds, particles in the atmosphere and the Earth. SPARTAN will be deployed from the Shuttle to study the acceleration and velocity of the solar wind and it will also measure the Sun's corona. Landed September 20, 1994 at EDW. Mission Duration: 262 hours 49 minutes 57 seconds.
