Following on from the Mercury project, the Gemini project saw NASA develop the technology and techniques that would be needed to reach the moon, including spacewalks, rendezvous and docking, and long duration spaceflights.

Although Gemini project patches we rarely used at NASA at the time, this is a replica of the one exception - a rare and sought-after patch with a distinctive blue background that was actually used by some of those who worked on the project.
