NANCY GRACE ROMAN SPACE TELESCOPE
Backstory:
In December 2021 when the James Webb Space Telescope was launched, AB Emblem was ready to offer our commemorative to the world. When NASA announced that the Nancy Grace Roman Telescope launch Would take place on August 30th, we wanted to be ready.
Description:
In the center is the SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket that will place the NGR ST into orbit. The view of the universe is made up of squares. These squares are not random — they represent the telescope’s field of view and its survey capabilities. Each square in the grid symbolizes a single field of view that the telescope can image. The Roman Space Telescope’s Wide-Field Instrument (WFI) has a 0.28 square degree field of view, which is about 100 times larger than Hubble’s. In the logo, the squares visually convey how the telescope can rapidly scan vast swaths of the sky in a single snapshot, covering areas equivalent to many full moons in size. At the top is an illustration of the spacecraft.
The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope is a NASA-led flagship observatory, but collaboration with other international partners such as ESA, CNES, and the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy to ensure a global scientific and engineering effort. Their emblems are featured just as I did with the JWST. Our initials are ghost stitched in the border.
This commemorative design is intended to celebrate all those Who Worked to make this mission possible.
